It came to my attention recently how much an energy healing really does not last for just the one-hour session. I’m always telling my clients that the healing energy they have just received will keep going for the next few days. The gateway if open & if there is more work to be done the energy will keep on working till it’s finished. If clients experience anything out the ordinary or have a release they don’t understand I advice them to call me for a chat.
My personal experience with this came after an amazing Crystal Bed healing. The session worked very deeply into some fairly old stuck emotions. The healer advised me to take it very easy over the next few days & really listen to my body. Rest if I need too & try to stay out of dense, negative environments.
It’s normal for me to go through a bit of a detox after a session, sometimes a physical clear out like a head cold occurs. This time I was a bit of an emotional sponge. I couldn’t avoid one job related situation that turned out to be quite stressful. I was still processing the healing energy from my session & could see why it was advised I lay low & rest up. The situation left me feeling really deflated & raw. The negativity stuck to me like metal filings to a magnet because I was so open. That said it didn’t ruin the effects of the session, it just made me more aware of the after care steps until my energy had come back to full strength.
Here are some after care tips to follow if you’ve received an energy healing such as Reiki, Kinesiology, reflexology or a massage.
Drink water – Fresh, filtered water & lots of it. Water will flush out any toxins & acts as a conductor to flow the healing energy through your body. Especially if you’re experiencing headaches or other detox symptoms.
Rest – Don’t push on too hard. If like me you had an emotional release take the time to allow these emotions to wash through & finally be gone. You may find you need more sleep, if so allow this to happen.
Meditate – Healing sessions open a channel to your inner guidance. This channel is the most clear & strong after a session take advantage of this & connect. Ask any questions you have & sit quietly for the answers.
Eat good food – Nourish your body with fresh, organic produce. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine, alcohol & sugar. High vibration food will raise your own vibration.
Move your body gently – Exercise is great for shifting energy blockages. However opt for slow & gentle styles such as Pilates, yoga or walking.
Avoid stressful situations – As I found out you may not be as strong energetically whilst you are processing the emotions from you session. Try to avoid large crowds, shopping centres, confronting situations, negative environments etc.
Healing sessions are just that, healing. Try not to throw yourself back into the old stressful routine. Sessions can assist you in finding a path to an easier & flowing life.

Happy New Year! I hope you all stayed safe & well during the transition into 2014. I feel I was already living the new energy as I kept saying ‘Happy New Year’ to people during the last week of December.
As I mentioned in Tuesday’s end of year post my intention for 2014 is ‘simplicity.’ I’ve been thinking how I can implement this into my life going forward. Here are a few ideas:
- Saying less will mean more. Not over talking or going into vast detail. Straight to the point, no fluff. Allow others their space to speak & I will listen.
- Buying less. Assessing my needs before purchasing material objects. Do I really need this? How will buying this enrich my life & will it bring me longer term joy? I feel a need to cut back on ‘stuff’ that is not necessary. Mend & make do until it is really necessary to replace.
- Enjoying & embracing the simple things. Look around me & take pleasure in nature. See the world through open & fresh eyes. Find the joy that is all around by focusing on the positive in every situation.
- Be creative. How I can utilize what I already have or what is around me for pleasure, inspiration or work.
- Reduce over thinking. Be in tune with my heart & allow it to guide me. When my head gets busy, stop, breath & ask within to find the answers.
- Plan my week ahead, keeping it simple. What do I really need to focus on right now? What can wait till next week? What will bring me the most joy this week. Focus on the joy projects first.
- Trust all is how it should be. Try not to control, dominate or fight against resistance. Acknowledge the lessons & learn from them.
- Be authentic, speak, live & radiate my Soul truth. Can’t get much simpler than that!

It’s not often I get all smooshy and sentimental but today I am. Living on the other side of the world to my entire family & the close knit friends I grew up with it is days like this I like to give gratitude to those physically close to me. Today I give thanks to my partner.
He is the main reason why I decided to stay in Australia & leave my loved one’s behind in the UK. I’m not a huge believer in Soul Mates or Twin Flames. I feel that relationship is ‘within’ us already. We need to be our own Soul Mate first and then we can fully welcome another into our energy field. Maybe I’m just saying that because I’m a ‘smug married’ as Bridget Jones would say. We’re actually not the married part, as I’m super comfortable being a de facto. Also I feel if you do meet that one person who completes your jigsaw you never question ‘are they my Soul Mate’ as you just know, no need to question.
Today we are celebrating my partner’s birthday. He’s taken the day off so we can spend time together & he can do what he loves to do, dig in his garden surrounded by his feather kids. (The chooks)
Looking back over the seven years together we’ve been through a lot. Like all relationships there are ups and down’s. Lot’s of happy times & travel adventures have been had. He’s been super supportive of my life choices, which I’m truly grateful for.
He didn’t mind the times I disappeared for a month at a time for work or overseas to visit my family. Then I left for the States for ten weeks to qualify as a yoga teacher. That lead me to working random hours & sometimes we used to go a few days without actually seeing each other to talk too. It’s the way we roll & it works. Giving each other the space to follow our passions.
Now in my new venture he’s just as supportive. From day one he was a willing volunteer for my healing practice. I do feel bad as he now misses out on sessions to make room for my other clients. This is something that needs to be changed. Today he will receive his much over due session.
There is always a worry that when one partner discovers their ‘spiritual journey’ they may no longer be aligned with those around them. From experience I have lost friends through this process. It does happen & it is normal. I have been careful not to force or push too hard my new way of thinking on my partner. It’s awesome he’s happily followed along on his own accord. Just being in someones presence can be influential. He’s taken an interest in crystals, had his spirit guide drawn & received a past life healing. Reading up on metaphysics and meditation is now a new area he’s venturing into.
My gift to him this year is very different from previous years. I have given him a hand made Reiki infused Mala bracelet of Agate, Onyx & Amber. I also had my Mentor record him his very own Personal Journey MP3. These gifts reflect how much we have grown together & have respect for each other’s lives. I appreciate the love & support he has given me. Happy birthday gorgeous.

It’s been exactly one year ago to this date I started my journey that has lead me to be where & whom I am today. It’s been one year since I started the 12 week Advanced Mentoring Program with Elizabeth Peru. This course of study I can not praise enough as it really did change my life. Read this post for more details.
A year on I can not believe how much I have changed for the better. My brief for the program was met beyond my expectations. (I’ll talk more about that in tomorrow’s post) I have discovered why I am here & what my life purpose is. Everybody is so different. I can not guarantee you the same success I achieved by working with Elizabeth. I can say if you put in the effort & truly want to embrace a change in your life in the right direction lead by your Soul you may get the results you are aiming for.
It’s not just twelve weeks, finish it and then stop. The Advanced Mentoring sets you up with life skills you can live every day for the rest of your life. The course material is there for you any time you need it. I was referring to it just the other day. As we grow & expand things will take on a different meaning. Reading back my notes I could see how far I have come and how much ‘I get it now.’
I am so grateful for Elizabeth’s guidance & support over the past year. Despite completing the full Merit Mastery program now I know this is not the end of the relationship. I am out there on my own, I actually always have been as it’s me doing the work for myself. I have gained the skills to figure things out for myself more quickly and with less need for reassurance from others. I can see though as I develop further on my path I may well still need to check in from time to time for some clarity from my mentor. We never stop learning. Even if my sessions become more of a chat to share what I’m up to from a feedback for the program point of view then that’s how it shall be.
I wish all the July 29th new mentees well on their new journey. Enjoy the ride, I loved it!
